Miranda Creative is very creative

This morning we had a great presentation by Maria Miranda on QR codes and non-traditional marketing.  If you have used these new marketing techniques in a specific marketing campaign, or just for overall brand awareness, tell us about your experience.

Maria made a great presentation this morning! Within the next year (six months, says Maria) you'll be seeing lots of QR Codes in use in Connecticut. Maria's presentation was very timely, and I urge all people who are in business in Connecticut to begin their use of QR Codes soon. They are working for me!

The CT Wine Trail is also using Miranda Creative to develop our "non-traditional" marketing. I look forward to working with her and her team.

Ive used qr codes for a couple years now - they really aren't that new. While I love them in concept and they have moderate success, I don't think that I've ever stopped to use my phone on a qr code. Japan had a boom of qr marketing a year ago but it has since tapered off. I like the use of them @ stoplights on billboards or to download a business contacts info, or directions. Bringing someone to your website or scanning for a chance to win something is spammy, gimmicky, and offers no real call to action. If QR codes are used sparingly and with strategic purpose they can be a decent addition to a campaign. Just like social media, it's icing on the cake. Not the main course.

I have a QR on the backside of my business card. Since my website is my storefront it's a valuable tool. It's very import for my VO demos to be easily available to potential clients. You must make sure, however that your website "plays well" with mobile devices before you send anyone in that direction.
