Social Networking

This year, the Chamber has joined the social networking community with a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and even a blog. We had no idea what to expect, or how it would help us, but we wanted to reach out to more members.

So far, it’s working! We have Facebook friends and Twitter followers and we’re enjoying discussions with our community.

We’ve also found wonderful resources on Twitter, thanks to helpful posts directing us to relevant blogs, articles and new people.
Has social networking helped your business? Tell us about it here.

Special Olympics Connecticut created facebook event pages for many of our fundraising events including our Penguin Plunge and Dodgeball tournament at UCONN. Facebook has been a great way to recruit high school and college students. A UCONN student also started a facebook pledge to end the use of the r-word that has been incredibly successful. Facebook has been a great tool in free advertisement of events and competitions and a fast and easy way to share photos and videos.
