Chelsea Groton Bank Distributes $14,000 in Scholarships

Chelsea Groton Bank held its annual scholarship presentation and distributed $14,000 in awards to students from local high schools.  Scholarship award winners were selected based upon academic merit, character and financial need.

President and CEO B. Michael Rauh Jr. welcomed the scholarship winners and commended them for their academic achievements.  He also thanked the award recipients for their volunteer work and their contributions to the community in which we all live, work, and play, prior to presenting each student with a $1,000 scholarship.

The scholarships were awarded to: Ariel May of Academy of the Holy Family, Teresa Lan of East Lyme High School, Jake Clark of Fitch High School, Ashley Gathers of Grasso Technical High School, Amanda Armstrong of Griswold High School, Elizabeth Vantroba of Ledyard High School, Ryann Wyatt Tagle of Montville High School, Joshua Zurita of New London High School, Alexis Seder of Norwich Free Academy, Brandon St. Jean of St. Bernard’s High School, Emily Pinko of Stonington High School, Melanie Edson of Waterford High School, Hannah Whalen of Westerly High School and Erica Crowley of Wheeler High School.
