Dime Bank Promotes Five Bank Officers

NORWICH, Conn. — Dime Bank is pleased to announce the promotions of five bank officers at the mutual bank headquartered in Norwich. They include promotions in retail banking operations, accounting, trust, and human resources.

Cheryl Calderado, senior vice president of administration, sales, services and marketing at the bank, said the promotions include:  Lynn Roberts of East Lyme, Heather Smith of Norwich, Nancy Potter of Waterford, and Darlene Serra of Preston to corporate officers; and, Kevin Owren of Westerly to assistant vice president.

Lynn Roberts joined Dime Bank in 2011 as trust administrator in the trust department where she provides critical trust support to senior trust officers. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Temple University and Certificate of Graduation from The Institute for Paralegal Training in the Real Estate Law Program. Lynn resides in East Lyme with her husband John.

Heather Smith joined Dime Bank in 1989 as a teller and moved into the accounting department as bookkeeper in 1991. She was promoted to senior accounting representative, then staff accountant, and most recently to accounting supervisor. She will be attending the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in the fall. Heather resides in Norwich with her husband Mike and two children.

Nancy Potter joined Dime Bank in 2005 as customer service representative and was promoted in 2007 to CSR II and then to assistant branch manager. She has been the branch manager of our Bank Street/New London branch since 2010. Nancy is active in many community organizations including: Fiddleheads, New London Adult Education, and New London Landmarks. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Connecticut. Nancy resides in Waterford with her husband Larry.

Darlene Serra joined Dime Bank in 2005 as the human resources assistant/payroll administrator in human resources. In 2008, she became the benefits administrator; and, in 2011, she was promoted to payroll and benefits manager. Darlene will be attending the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in the fall.  She resides in Preston with her husband Rich.   

Kevin Owren joined Dime Bank in 2008 as assistant secretary/branch manager of the Westerly office.   Kevin serves as a board member of the Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce and is on the duck race committee and most recently the search engine optimization committee. He is a member of the Westerly Lions and chairs their poinsettia sales committee. Kevin also volunteers at the WARM shelter and Captains a team for the Westerly Relay For Life and for the Westerly Heart Walk. In 2011, he graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance & Management. Kevin resides in Westerly with his wife Brenda.
