Rockville Bank Awarded for Green Technology

Rockville Bank's Green Branch Receives LEED Silver 2011 Award

ROCKVILLE, CONN., June 6, 2011 – Rockville Bank (Conn.) has received the official U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver 2011 Award in recognition of achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification for its “Green” branch office at 768 North Main Street in Manchester. A model for all other banks in Connecticut, the building is the first bank branch in the state with its entire property utilizing “Green” technology and engineering – indoors and outdoors. The project’s final LEED rating reflects 35 documented and approved points, which corresponds to the silver certification level under the LEED for New Construction rating system.
