SouthEastern CT Enterprise Region Annual Meeting Scheduled

 

New London: The Annual Meeting of the SouthEastern CT Enterprise Region (seCTer) will be held at 8:00am on November 18 at the Radisson Hotel, 35 Governor Winthrop Boulevard, New London.  At the breakfast meeting, John Markowicz, Executive Director, and Mark Oefinger, Chairman , will report on activities and accomplishments of the organization for the recently completed  fiscal year 2010. Treasurer, Denny Hicks, will review the financial status of  the regional economic development agency.  New board members and officers for fiscal year 2011 will also be elected. 

 

The meeting is open to the public.  The cost to attend is $25, which includes membership in seCTer for the calendar year 2011.  Reservations are required.  Please contact Pat Glynn at 860.437.4659, ext. 200 with questions or to make a reservation.

 

seCTer is a 501c (3) non-profit membership corporation that for more than a decade has stimulated and supported economic development within southeastern Connecticut.  It accomplishes this mission in several ways. Fostering a climate favorable for economic development and diversification through educational and informational programs reaching government officials and the general public. Supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses and the startup of new businesses.  Recruiting new businesses through a marketing program that promotes the region's resources and competitiveness. Coordinating economic development activities among the region's municipalities, with state and federal agencies, and with other organizations. Participating in efforts to meet the infrastructure needs of a growing regional economy. Defining and updating the region's goals and strategy through periodic analysis of the region's economic needs and opportunities.
