Friday, November 5, United Way of Southeastern CT is offering a training from 8:30 am-12 noon for area non-profit executives and members of non-profit boards.
The training will be led by Paul Ballasy from JH Cohn and will offer two hours on “How to Read and Understand Your Audit & Form 990” and one hour on “What is a CAP (or Cost Allocation Plan)?”
 
This training is open to local not-for-profits for $15 per person before 10/29 and $20 after. UWSECT Partner Agencies will receive a discounted rate, paying $5 per person. Since space is limited, we ask that organizations send no more than 3 people.

Paul Ballasy, CPA, is a partner with J.H. Cohn. Paul has over 20 years experience and spends most of his time servicing nonprofit audit engagements and closely–held corporations. Paul was one of two CPAs who served on the CT Nonprofit Human Service Cabinet; a group that was instrumental in development of the new cost standards implemented by the State of CT Office of Policy and Management (OPM). He has conducted numerous educational seminars on the new cost standards for the not-for-profit community. Paul began his career at with J.H. Cohn in 1989 after graduating from the UCONN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Paul serves as Vice President of the Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford, Inc. and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
