A proud supporter of non-profit organizations and groups that foster education and social well-being, the Credit Union recently presented both The Child and Family Agency of SECT and Norwich Free Academy’s Parent Council with checks for $1,000. Serving over 13,000 children from 79 towns in 2009, the Child and Family Agency is Southeastern Connecticut’s largest, private, non-profit children’s service provider. Charter Oak’s donation will support programs dealing with the prevention of child abuse, the treatment of family violence, teen pregnancy, children’s health care, childcare, parent education and children's mental health. Also supporting youth initiatives, the NFA Parent Council raises over $25,000 annually to support the growth of the NFA Community. The Credit Union’s donations will supplement the Council’s fundraising efforts, which provide for an annual Drug and Alcohol Free Post Prom Party, as well as scholarships for graduating seniors |
