SouthEastern CT Enterprise Region Elects Board Members for 2011

 

New London: The Annual Meeting of the SouthEastern CT Enterprise Region (seCTer) was held on November 18 at the Radisson Hotel, New London.  At the breakfast meeting, John Markowicz, Executive Director, and Mark Oefinger, Chairman, reported on activities and accomplishments of the organization for the recently completed fiscal year 2010. Treasurer, Denny Hicks, reviewed the financial status of the regional economic development agency. 

Also at the meeting new board members were elected to serve two year terms.  They are

seCTer is a 501c (3) non-profit membership corporation that for more than a decade has stimulated and supported economic development within southeastern Connecticut.  It accomplishes this mission in several ways. Fostering a climate favorable for economic development and diversification through educational and informational programs reaching government officials and the general public. Supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses and the startup of new businesses.  Recruiting new businesses through a marketing program that promotes the region's resources and competitiveness. Coordinating economic development activities among the region's municipalities, with state and federal agencies, and with other organizations. Participating in efforts to meet the infrastructure needs of a growing regional economy. Defining and updating the region's goals and strategy through periodic analysis of the region's economic needs and opportunities.
