Boy Scouts to Honor Charles Seeman and the Norwich BulletinCharles Seeman and the Norwich Bulletin will be recognized by the Mohegan District of the Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America for leadership and community service on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. United Community & Family Services President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Seeman is being recognized as the Mohegan District’s fifteenth Outstanding Leadership Award recipient. The Outstanding Leadership Award is presented to a leader in the community who lives by the values of the Scouts’ Oath and Law in their daily life. “Chuck is an exceptional choice,” said event co-chairman and Eagle Scout Jeffrey Godley. “He is a steadfast leader of impeccable character and commitment to our community’s well-being.” The Norwich Bulletin will also be presented with the organization’s Community Service Award at the ceremony. The Community Service Award is presented annually to an organization to recognize their commitment to southeastern Connecticut. “In reporting daily the good turns of our area, the Norwich Bulletin has been active and involved in our communities since 1791,” said Angela Arnold, who also volunteers on the event’s committee. Attendees to the Outstanding Leadership Award Reception can enjoy an optional self-guided tour of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum at 5:00pm. The reception and dinner begins at 6:00pm, with the program running from 7:00-8:00pm. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. They provide programs for young people that build character, train them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and developing personal fitness.
