Doing Business with the Government

Free Small Business Workshop

The Small Business Administration (SBA) and CT Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) are partnering to offer a free workshop on Doing Business with the Government on Monday, May 23rd from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groton Public Library.  The speakers will be Brien Robertson of the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAC) and Lisa Powell from SBA.

The seminar will outline the various State and Federal Set-Aside Programs affecting Woman Owned Businesses through identifying the intent of each program, eligibility requirements, benefits of certification, and how to become certified. Some programs require either state or federal certification while other programs require self-certification.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Program provides marketing and technical assistance to Connecticut businesses selling, or interested in selling, their products and/or services to federal, state and local government agencies. Services include customized client bid matching, individual counseling, seminars, bid/proposal preparation, assistance with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and specialized marketing assessments.  Services are state wide and offered at no cost to businesses.

Registration for the workshops is requested by contacting the Library at 860-441-6750 or email reference@town.groton.ct.us.
