Charter Oak Partners with Fitch High School StudentsTo Raise Money for Haiti Relief Efforts Charter Oak Federal Credit Union and students from Groton’s Robert E. Fitch High School, are partnering to raise emergency funds to support the American Red Cross’s Haiti relief efforts. Working with the Credit Union’s in-school branch, Fitch students will hold a school-wide coin drive to raise funds, with students donating spare change to help the devastated nation. Charter Oak’s Community Giving Program will match student donations dollar for dollar up to $500. In addition to collecting donations at the Credit Union’s Fitch branch, Charter Oak will take the effort beyond the school’s walls - collecting donations at each of its branch locations which span from Pawcatuck to Willimantic. Monies raised in this emergency fundraising campaign will be donated directly to the American Red Cross’s Humanitarian Relief Team, already stationed in Haiti.
