CorePlus Adopts a Local Family for the Holidays

CorePlus Federal Credit Union has adopted a local family through the Norwich Human Services Office holiday ‘Adopt-a-Family’ program.  The program is designed to make the holidays more joyful for those in need, particularly area children.

The credit union and its employees generously donated 21 bags of groceries to fill the family’s pantry, a $100 Wal-Mart gift card and over $650 in clothes, toys and gifts for the two young boys and their mother. A science experiment kit, Hot Wheels racing cars, art easel with markers and crayons, winter coats and pajamas were just some of the gift items the family will receive.

The CorePlus effort was led by Bernadine Edgley, Service and Support Manager.  She was prompted to reach out to the Norwich Human Services Office as a way to help others during the holiday season.  “Our credit union is all about people helping people. Through giving to this family, it rings for us all the true spirit and meaning of the holidays”.
