Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut Offers a Day at the BeachNIANTIC, CT -Families are invited to spend a day in the picturesque shoreline town of Niantic when they visit the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, 409 Main St. When visitors to the museum pay admission, they can request a morning or afternoon beach pass to McCook's Park Beach, which has a playground, pavilion, picnic tables, and grills or, just up the shore, to the Hole-in-the-Wall Beach with direct access to the Niantic Bay Boardwalk. Both beaches are a hop, skip, and a jump from the museum. The pass includes a beach kit for families to use during their time at the seashore: a sand bucket, shovel, and other fun beach accessories. Beach passes and kits are limited and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For families that like to learn a little history and discover more about the coastal village, the museum offers a map and a fabulous, new "Summer Fun on the Run! The East Lyme Scavenger Hunt," including 11 stops around town where hunters can find a few hidden treasures. For information about the beach pass, scavenger hunt, or the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, call (860) 691-1111 or visit www.childrensmuseumsect.org.
