Hospice Southeastern Connecticut’s Expressive Arts for Grieving Hearts

“Drawing on our Memories” for Seniors

Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut is pleased to announce that they will be holding special twice-a-month Expressive Arts workshops for seniors entitled “Drawing on our Memories” beginning in May at the Hospice Southeastern Connecticut office in Norwich, and continuing in June at the East Lyme Senior Center. The Norwich workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 12 and 26th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The East Lyme groups will be held June 9th and 23rd, also from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Our Expressive Arts Coordinator, Linda Till Bradley, will guide participants through creating something tangible to commemorate and honor the memory of their loved ones. This will be a creative project that can be taken with you at the completion of the group. Drawings, sculpture, scrapbooks and poetry are some examples of this type of expressive work. All materials are supplied and there is absolutely no artistic talent required. There is no cost to attend.

Please contact Cyndia Shook, our Bereavement Program Administrator, at 860-848-5699 to pre-register for this very special workshop where, in the company of others, you can create a meaningful tangible memento.

Expressive Arts for Grieving Hearts is funded in part by the William T. Christopher Fund for Children’s Health and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
