The Norwich Arts Council presents Intertwined: Fiber Art Invitational on exhibit at the NAC Gallery from Wednesday, September 29, 2010 to Saturday, October 30, 2010.  An Opening Reception for the exhibit will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  This art exhibit features fiber art in various forms, from felting and rug-making, to surface design and artistic quilting.

With their growing popularity, home décor and fashion design shows have shown that people are fascinated by the textiles that surround their lives, and the creative possibilities they promise.  In this exhibit, four fiber artists have been invited to demonstrate just that, the ability for cloth and fiber to be both aesthetic and conceptual. The exhibit features artists Kate Themel, Lauren Cotton, Roz Spier, and Liz Alpert Fay.

First Friday Opening Receptions in the NAC Gallery are free to the public with refreshments available.  Receptions are a great opportunity to meet the artists.  And don’t forget to visit NAC Gallery Too! next door, featuring various local artists year round in a gift-shop style environment.  Gallery hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12noon to 4pm for both galleries.  For more info call the NAC Gallery at 860-887-2789 or visit their website at www.norwicharts.org.
