Girl Scouts Make Donation to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut
The Junior Girl Scout Troop #63033 in Montville, CT recently earned their Sewing Badge by sewing comfort pillows and donating them to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut to be used by patients. The girls chose the material and size of the pillow, and sewed them by hand.
“We are so grateful for this thoughtful gift,” said Maureen Collins, Director of Clinical Services for Hospice Southeastern Connecticut. “Our patients always appreciate something homemade. It gives them a little lift during what can be a very difficult time.”
Hospice Southeastern Connecticut is a non-profit community based organization serving over 6,500 patients since 1985. The agency provides end of life care in the home and often in skilled nursing facilities to patients of any age with any terminal illness. It also provides bereavement services to anyone experiencing grief and loss in the southeastern Connecticut community.
