Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center to Host Green Tie Gala & Silent Auction on November 20, 2010

 

Mystic, CT (November 8, 2010)  Spend seven days in Machu Pichu, attend a taping of “The Daily Show”, or hit the water in a new Zodiac inflatable boat if you are the high bidder at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center’s Green Tie Gala and Silent Auction at the Branford House in Groton on November 20, 2010.  The Gala begins at 6 p.m. and is the DNPC’s largest annual fundraiser in support of its science-based environmental education programs and services. 

This year’s auction will include over 100 items, gift certificates and services, including:  a vacation stay in a Vermont farmhouse; New England Patriots tickets; a Long Island Wine Country getaway; a specially prepared four-course gourmet meal for four at the Old Mystic Inn; original artwork by Rita Dawley, Jeffrey P’an, Gray Park, and Pamela Zagarenski; and gift certificates from Thai One On, Mystic River Yarns, John Cyr Painting, Antonio Design Group and many others.

The Gala will feature entertainment, a signature cocktail, delectable desserts, and cuisine by Puritan & Genesta Catering. Tickets for the event are $75 per person when purchased in advance; $85 per person at the door.  Business patron and sponsorship levels are also available from $100. Since 1946, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center has provided visitors and the community with experiential science programs that further the Center’s mission:  to inspire and nurture appreciation and scientific understanding of the natural world and foster a personal environmental ethic.  DPNC serves 50,000 people each year with environmental science programs.
