Charter Oak FCU Board Appoints new Chairman and Vice-Chairman

Groton, CT-May 3, 2011 –Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has announced that Board Chairman of 17 years Pierre Brochu, has decided to begin a transition of leadership for the Board of Directors of the credit union. Following the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting, the Board appointed Guy Henry as its new chairman. Mr. Brochu will continue to serve on the Credit Union’s Board of Directors. Mr. Brochu, in announcing his decision stated, “I believe it is time to begin a transition of leadership within the Board of Directors. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as chairman, and look forward to many more years of service to the credit union as a Director.” Mr. Brochu has led the flourishing Credit Union to a position of financial strength and heightened market presence during his esteemed tenure as chairman. Mr. Brochu resides in Waterford, CT with his wife, Helen.
 
Mr. Henry had been serving as the Board’s Vice Chairman. Mr. Henry, a 36 year member of the $675 million credit union, joined its Supervisory Committee as a volunteer in 1992 and was elected by the membership in 1994 to its Board of Directors. Mr. Henry resides in Oakdale, CT with his wife, Amy. Melvin Olsson, a 35 year member of the credit union and a board member since 1995, will serve as the new Vice Chairman. Mr. Olsson resides in Mystic, CT with his wife, Dorothy.
