Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Annual Walk Scheduled for May 8
The annual three-mile Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Walk takes place on Saturday, May 8 in beautiful Mohegan Park in Norwich, CT. In celebration of Hospice Southeastern Connecticut’s 25th Anniversary, Bruce Cummings, President and CEO of Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and David Whitehead, President and CEO of W. W. Backus Hospital are Honorary Chairmen. Registration begins at 9 am and the Walk begins at 10 am. Refreshments will be available. KOOL FM 101 is broadcasting live from the location, and a raffle and pre-Mother’s Day plant sale will take place. The first 400 pre-registered walkers will receive a free t-shirt. The Walk is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Individuals and Teams may register and create their own fundraising pages by visiting www.hospicesect.org. Hospice Southeastern Connecticut provides care in the home and often in skilled nursing facilities for those facing the end of their life, regardless of age, disease or inability to pay. The organization also provides bereavement services for families in New London County free of charge, regardless of whether the death occurred under hospice care or not. All funds raised go towards helping hospice patients receive the very best care available.
