Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Presents Hospice Basics LectureHospice Southeastern Connecticut nurse, Lorraine Moon, RN, will present a basic overview of hospice care on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Mystic Congregational Church Parish Hall, corner of East Main Street and Broadway in Mystic, Connecticut. Moon will give an introduction to hospice, a philosophy of care that focuses on patient comfort and quality of life rather than curing illness. Find out everything you want and need to know about hospice care, including who is eligible and what is covered by insurance. Learn about pain and symptom management, and how all hospices are not the same. Hospice Southeastern Connecticut provides care in the home and often in skilled nursing facilities for those facing the end of their life, regardless of age, disease or ability to pay. The organization also provides bereavement services for families in New London County free of charge, regardless of whether the death occurred under hospice care or not. The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call Lynne at (860) 848-5699 or email lcrider@hospicesect.org |
