Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Celebrates Its Volunteers

On Saturday, April 25, the volunteers of Hospice Southeastern Connecticut were honored at a brunch at the Officer’s Club at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Many of the 140 active volunteers attended, and were treated to a delicious meal.

Thanking them for their service to the community, Volunteer Program Administrator Denise Hawk said, “Each volunteer is an essential piece to all that Hospice Southeastern Connecticut seeks to achieve in New London County, from providing compassionate service and support to patients and their families to providing excellent administrative support to staff and lending a helping hand to our various community outreach and fundraising initiatives. I can’t imagine our organization without each of you!”

Some volunteers who reached milestone years of volunteering for Hospice Southeastern Connecticut were at the event. Bruce Dasinger has volunteered for 10 years, Fran and Stan Kapolowicz and Gloria Sinopoli for 20 years each. At the end of the Celebration, guests were treated to an appearance of the Pine Point School musical group, Stained Glass. Led by teacher David Smith, the group features three guitars and seven vocalists.
