Iron Chef Competition/Auction for Action to benefit MASH June 18

The Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality (MASH) will hold the Fourth Annual “Iron Chef Competition and Auction for Action” Friday, June 18 from 6:00 to 10:00 at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington. The event will feature silent and live auctions, wine and beer tasting, full bar, and hors d’oeuvres by Water St. Café, accompanied by live music. The event will benefit MASH efforts to shelter homeless families with children and prevent family homelessness in Southeastern Connecticut.

Reigning MASH “Iron Chef” champion Jamie Fowler, Executive Chef of Noah’s Restaurant, will face off in a culinary battle against Chaz Paull, Executive Chef of the Daniel Packer Inne. The Chefs will be assisted by celebrity sous chefs Kevin Rogers and Gerry Klender. Steve Sigel, of the Garde Arts Center will host as Master of Ceremonies, and Congressman Joe Courtney and Executive Pastry Chef Lynn Mansel, of the Mohegan Sun, will judge the competition – with a third judge spot auctioned off at the event! Guest will also have the opportunity to bid in live and silent auctions on gift certificates to local restaurants and inns, fabulous paintings by some of the area’s most talented artists, and other great merchandise donated by MASH’s local business supporters.
