Kids are Scientists on
Wednesday Afternoons NIANTIC, CT – The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut (CMSECT), 409 Main St., invites children to participate in its Preschool Science programs, held Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 beginning Sept. 22. From microscopes to binoculars, critters to rocks, launching rockets to volcanoes, children are exposed to many facets of the scientific world in these classes. Each week has a different theme including food and science in “Don’t Play With Your Food – Experiment With It” on Sept. 22 and simple machines in “Ramp It Up” Sept. 29.
Kids become archeological scavenger hunters on Oct. 6 and learn about trees by making leaf imprints on Oct. 13. Ancient Egypt is the theme on Oct. 20, and on Oct. 27 children learn about having a sense of direction and map-making skills.
Experiments continue in November when static electricity is explored on Nov. 3, crazy concoctions and chemical reactions on Nov. 10, and measuring skills on Nov. 17.
Each Wednesday session is 45-minutes long and is
best for ages 4-6. The fee is $9 per member, $15 nonmember, and includes museum
admission for the child. For more information visit
