Ledge Light Federal Credit Union excelled in 2009 VITA Tax Program
Ledge Light Federal Credit Union’s first year partnering with TVCCA to offer FREE tax preparation through the IRS VITA program was met with great success.
Eleven Ledge Light Federal Credit Union employees volunteered a total of 333 hours in assisting 66 taxpayers file their tax returns electronically free of charge.
“It was a success and we hope to see them next year,” said Maria-Teresa Walker, TVCCA VITA Coordinator.
“Participating in VITA this year allowed us to give back to our local community. Helping taxpayers avoid the high cost of tax preparation fit in perfectly with the credit union mantra, People Helping People and we look forward to hosting a site again next year,” said Bruce Fafard, President/CEO of Ledge Light Federal Credit Union.
