Rev. Willis J. McCaw Introduced to Area Spiritual LeadersOn Thursday, November 5, Rev. Willis J. McCaw, the new Spiritual Coordinator for Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, was introduced to area clergy, rabbis and imams. Thirty members of New London County churches, synagogues and temples along with volunteers for Hospice Southeastern Connecticut greeted McCaw at a reception at the organization’s Community Bereavement Center and Administrative Offices in Norwich, CT. McCaw was joined by his wife, Melissa, and his 2-year-old son, Jordan, at the reception. McCaw explained his role at Hospice Southeastern Connecticut. “I can help our patients find answers to some of life’s hardest questions by listening to them without preconception or censoring. Most people are spiritual even if they are not religious. I also work with the religious leaders, when appropriate, helping them help their congregation. I can also help those left behind in their grieving,” McCaw continued. “People need reassurance that their feelings and thoughts of anger and denial are natural parts of the grieving process.” For more information about Hospice Southeastern Connecticut’s Spiritual Counseling, call (860) 848-5699 or email info@hospicesect.org. |
