The Garden’s Haunted and Monsters Party

at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut

Niantic, CT—The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, 409 Main St., invites families to visit its annual funny and frightful—but not too scary—Halloween activities, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 14-16.

Come to the Haunted Garden and Monster Shindig on Friday and Saturday, Oct.14-15, 7-9 pm. Creep around the haunted garden, where outdoor exhibits are transformed into an eerie Halloween scene, and then duck inside for a monstrously good time at the Monster Shindig.  The party includes games, jokes, and refreshments. Costumes are welcome. Admission to the Haunted Garden and Monster Shindig is $4 per person for members, $7 nonmembers, with a family maximum cost of $25 for members, $30 nonmembers.

A special time is set aside on Friday, Oct. 14, 5:30-7 pm, just for children with autism or requiring a sensory-friendly environment, and their families. Held before the Haunted Garden opens to the public, it is a quieter, less hectic opportunity to enjoy Halloween with seasonal games, jokes, and good times. Costumes are welcome. Festivities are held outdoors, weather permitting. The program is free, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and Pfizer. Call (860) 691-1111 to register.

The last chance to enjoy this year’s Haunted Garden is Sunday, Oct. 16, 6-7:30 pm. It’s a school night so the doors are opening early. Come and enjoy the Halloween-themed garden, games, jokes, and costumes. Festivities are held outdoors only; inclement weather will result in cancellation. Costumes welcome. Fee is $4 per member and $7 nonmember. Maximum fee per family is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers.

The mission of the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut is to encourage learning and spark imagination by engaging children and all families through creative and hands-on play in a safe and accessible community environment.
