AN EXHIBIT OF PHOTOGRAPHY BY SUE PARISH

Exhibit runs: Wednesday, March 2nd to Saturday, March 26th.

            The Norwich Arts Center presents Hey, That’s My Underwear, an exhibit of photography by Sue Parish at the NAC Gallery from Wednesday, March 2nd to Saturday, March 26th 2011.   An Opening Reception for the exhibit will be held Friday, March 4th, 2011 at 6:00 – 8:00pm.  Parish’s photography reflects the many places to which she travels, bringing to critical and colorful light the everyday moments in people’s lives, in this case the clothesline.

Sue Parish is a photographer living and working in Southeastern Connecticut who has traveled extensively across and outside the country to capture images from different places and cultures.   Her current exhibit is a look into the private-made-public world of people’s laundry, hung to dry on various clotheslines, revealing to the viewer intimate truths and offering an amusing reflection of our own lives.  Parish’s work, whether in black and white or color, reflects a particular mood that is solitary and yet universal even in the most seemingly ordinary environments. 


First Friday Opening Receptions in the NAC Gallery are free to the public with refreshments available.  Receptions are a great opportunity to meet the artists.  And don’t forget to visit NAC Gallery Too! next door, featuring various local artists year round in a gift-shop style environment.  Gallery hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12noon to 4pm for both galleries.  For more info call the NAC Gallery at 860-887-2789 or visit their website at www.norwicharts.org.
