Mystic Gallery Stroll Features Family Night

On Thursday, April 1, Mystic’s downtown galleries will host their monthly open gallery stroll, Mystic Art in the Evening, from 6– 8 pm with special children’s and family activities at several locations.

The stroll features seven art galleries with a wide variety of artistic styles and media on exhibit. All galleries are within several blocks of each other and downtown restaurants, and can be easily identified by large balloons.

In addition to the exhibition of Young at Art at the Mystic Arts Center, the Arts Center will host free children’s spring art projects, face painting and the Draw On scavenger hunt during the stroll. The Fitch High School Chamber Choir will also donate its performance throughout the night and the Emporium Gallery will provide family-friendly activities and refreshments.

“We felt it was a perfect opportunity for families to view art together,” says Brandy Kolmer, Director of External Relations at MAC. “The children’s artwork offers a vibrant dose of creative expression for adults, and artwork by professional and emerging artists can provide a lot of inspiration to young people. It’s a winning combination.”
