Mystic Seaport Invites Visitors Inside Collections Research Center

Mystic Seaport will exhibit significant items relating to America’s maritime heritage at “A Return to the Cabinet of Curiosities: A Behind-the-Scenes Tour,” the final installment of the Museum’s “Maritime Surprises” series held Friday, April 9, from 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Paul O’Pecko, vice president of collections and research at Mystic Seaport, will give a behind-the-scenes tour of the workings of the Museum’s Collections Research Center, giving attendees the opportunity to see the types of work done, as well as several of the collections housed. The tour will culminate with a trip to the main collection storage area to view some of the art and objects related to local Mystic, CT, sea captain, Joseph Warren Holmes.

Light refreshments will be served.
