Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut Offers Autism Program

NIANTIC, CT The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut (CMSECT), 409 Main St., is offering a program for children with autism and their families on Friday, Dec. 17, 6-7:30 pm. Museum staff and specialists experienced in autism are on hand to assist children with the exhibits.

The Autism Spectrum program is offered on a monthly basis  – when the museum sets aside time specifically for families with autistic children so that they can enjoy a quiet environment conducive to their needs.

The evening program is free, but visitors should register by calling (860) 691-1111. Space is limited. Specially trained education staff is present to enhance the visit for children and their families and to extend learning opportunities. 

The programs for autistic children and their families are generously supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and Pfizer.

The mission of the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut is to encourage learning and spark imagination by engaging children and all families through creative and hands-on play in a safe and accessible community environment. CMSECT serves more than 45,000 children and their families each year, both on and offsite.
