Russ Kramer Marine Art Studio/Gallery Opens in Downtown Mystic

Mystic, CT -- Visitors to Mystic's busy West Main Street can now watch one of America's leading marine artists at work.

The Russ Kramer Marine Art Studio/Gallery has newly opened at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, above the Finer Line Gallery. Original oils on canvas, depicting America's yachting history, as well as signed and numbered limited edition prints, are on display. And, as a working studio, you can watch Russ in the process of creating one of his dynamic paintings.

His large-scale oils, recreating the human drama aboard history's greatest racing yachts from a "first-person" perspective, are unique -- combining historic, narrative, figurative and marine painting. His work sells quickly into private and corporate collections, and has been featured in American Art Collector, Art in America, Yachting, Sail and Wooden Boat Magazines, among others.

Russ is also in demand for his commissioned work, depicting modern or classic yachts to an owner's specification. Recent work includes a large oil portrait of the 131-foot ketch ISLANDIA, and a smaller depiction of a 55-foot schooner. He is currently working on a racing scene of J-24s for a champion helmsman.
