Mystic Seaport “Behind the Canvas” Series to Feature Maritime Gallery Artist Russ Kramer

Marine painter Russ Kramer will present “A Trip Back in Time” at “Behind the Canvas,” a new series for art enthusiasts hosted by the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport Saturday, April 10, from 4 - 5:30 p.m.

Kramer will give a visual presentation that illustrates how he creates his historic maritime paintings. Renowned for his ability to capture America's yachting days gone by, Kramer’s unique vision and meticulous research create first-hand experiences for the viewer, providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of some of history’s greatest nautical races.

The painter’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Yachting Magazine, WoodenBoat Magazine, Sail Magazine and Yacht Digest. Many of his artworks are on display at his studio and gallery in Stonington, CT, as well as at the Maritime Gallery where he has won multiple awards.

The series concludes Saturday, May 15, with the presentation, “An Artist’s Walk through the Modern Marine Masters Exhibition.”
