Southeastern Connecticut NIANTIC, CT –The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, 409 Main St., announces a creative new endeavor for families to enjoy together: a scavenger hunt through the picturesque shoreline town of East Lyme. “Summer Fun on the Run! East Lyme Scavenger Hunt,” developed by museum Education Coordinator Diane Dusza, offers families the opportunity to spend time together learning about interesting natural and historical treasures. The hunt includes 11 stops and can be completed in an afternoon or over several days. Visitors to the museum can request the scavenger hunt directions and a map. “We partnered with the East Lyme Historical Society to create an activity that would be fun for an entire family and that points out hidden gems in our community,” said Dusza, a lifelong resident of the area. “I tested the scavenger hunt with my own kids and we all had a blast. The cemetery is their favorite stop.” “Not only is this scavenger hunt a terrific way for families to have fun together, but it’s a great way to initiate conversations about history, community, and discovery,” said the museum executive director, Christy Hammond. “Summer Fun on the Run” is free with museum admission.
