Southeastern CT SCORE Workshop Announcement

Southeastern CT SCORE, in conjunction with Three Rivers Community College and sponsored by Dime Bank of Norwich, is pleased to offer this four part Workshop Series in September. Each of the Workshops deals with some aspect of doing business in today's highly technical world. Each Presenter is an expert in their field and brings a wealth of real life experience to the table.

How to Survive Going Solo: What does it take to succeed?
This workshop will help the small business person gain an understanding of what characteristics are needed to survive as a solo business owner. Topics covered include survivor's guide, what is in it for me, due diligence, risk taking, are you ready to quit your day job (family, financially and emotionally), biggest mistakes, how to pay for jelly beans, and critical success factors. Presenter: Jim Toner.

eCommerce: How to get business to your website
How to build your business on the Internet, setting website goals, how to monitor, manage, and optimize website results, keeping your website current, know your website cost and determine the value of social networks to improve your brand, an overview of eCommerce auction and sale sites, and legal and other considerations of doing business on the Internet. Presenters: Andrew Brooks and Eric Steinmetz.

Marketing in 2010: Smart, Savvy and Social
Topics include: Rethinking your marketing plan after the 2009 recession ends, is your business mission still valid, have your customers changed, how a marketing plan can put you on the path to success, differentiating your business from competitors, identifying your real customer, defining the served markets, tools to reach target customers, importance of pricing, measuring customer satisfaction, and obtaining referrals, and strategic partnering, social networking (i.e., Facebook) as a marketing tool, and ways to calculate revenue or sales.
