“Self-Storage is for Autos Too”

Climate Plus Humidity Control Essential for Antiques, Autos and other Valuables.

Whether looking for safe storage for valuable antiques, computers, or even your valuable auto or outdoor equipment, protection beyond climate control has become an essential part of environmental storage control. New London Self Storage has recognized this need by offering humidity control, reducing mold, mildew and corrosion, in addition to the climate control effects of protection from dust and dirt.

The facility, located at 960 Bank Street in New London, has completed the first phase of 200 units, with the final 100 units to be completed in Spring, 2011. “De-humidification provides the highest level of protection,” shares Len Goldstein, owner of New London Self Storage. “Many storage facilities have security gates and perimeter fencing in addition to their climate control, but we go a step further with the humidity control factor, the keypad entry in each building and our video surveillance.” The system is a centrally monitored air treatment system which pumps dry air throughout the climate controlled units. “Many of our storage customers have items that have great value for them, even irreplaceable, and they seem to appreciate our extra services.” So far, customers at the new facility have marveled at the wide variety of sizes of the units, which range from 5’ x 5’ up to 10’ x 30’, in addition to the other features.

The specially built system is manufactured by Lennox, with indirect heating and cooling in an enclosed environment. Customers can access their storage units indoors away from the elements, such as the cold, rain or heat in the comfort of our well-lit hallways. The auto bays are externally accessible, but still offer the special climate control systems, essential for classic-era automobiles and trucks. And if your belongings are historical or simply valuable to you because of sentimental reasons, this climate control plus humidity control can offer the best protection.
