Credit Union’s Charitable Giving Program Donates $2,500 for New MedRIDE Van

 

Groton, CT-November 23, 2010 –Charter Oak Federal Credit Union’s Community Giving Program just keeps on growing. Since being launched in conjunction with the Credit Union’s new brand back in 2009, Charter Oak’s formalized charitable giving program has provided financial assistance to hundreds of community groups and organizations based throughout New London and Windham counties. In 2010 alone, the Credit Union has already made contributions to over 190 deserving groups hailing from 45 towns within Charter Oak’s field of membership-up from 160 recipient organizations in 2009.

Recently awarded a Community Giving donation was the Montville Senior Center, receiving $2,500 to aid in the purchase of a new MedRIDE vehicle, which will be used to transport Montville senior citizens to and from the Center. Also providing seniors access to hot meals, computer training, energy assistance, transportation, medical treatment and more, Montville’s Senior Center offers a vast array of services promoting social, emotional and physical well-being.
