“Sowing and Growing”

 

The Community Builder’s Institute, sponsored by Northeast Utilities, seCTer, CEDAS, NEDA and the CT Chapter of the American Planning Associate will hold a full day forum/seminar  on “Sowing and Growing” -- your community and your business.  The event will be held at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich on September 10, 2010 from 8am to 3:30pm. .  Nationally recognized speakers Will Lambe and Chris Gibbons will teach the course.  Mr. Lambe of the University of North Carolina Rural Development  Office will speak on “Small Towns and Big Ideas” – how small towns and cities, particularly in rural areas, can manage economic development that is compatible with their vision of their community and of its residents.  Mr. Gibbons, from Littleton, CO is a nationally known speaker on “Economic Gardening” – growing businesses in your community and creating a healthy economic environment. 

 

The cost for this event which includes continental breakfast and lunch  is $20 per person for seCTer members.  Municipalities may send unlimited staff and volunteer commissioners for $60.
