Spend School Spring Vacation at the Children’s Museum of SECTThe Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, 409 Main St., offers a wide variety of innovative programming for children and their families during school spring vacation week, April 12-16. From Monday through Saturday, be at the Museum for the 2:30 pm drop-in activities such as making puppets, silly putty, pinwheels, and rain gauges, or playing indoor hopscotch and walking on coffee-can stilts. These activities are free with museum admission. Call ahead to reserve space for the following activities, held at 10:30 am. On Tuesday, Apr, 13, join us at Ocean Beach Park in New London to see who lives in Alewife Cove. Come to the museum on Friday, Apr. 16, and bring fruit or vegetable scraps to share with composting worms and learn about the hard-working squirmers. The fee per program is $8 for members and $13 for nonmembers. Always wanted to try the museum’s Toddler Playgroup? Bring your 18-36-month-old child on Apr. 14 or Apr. 15 to play with playdough and to meet new friends. Bring babies that are 12-18 months old on Apr. 16.
