The Norwich Arts Center presents The Steve Marien Ensemble featuring Lisa Marien on Friday, February 3 at the Donald L. Oat Theater at 8:00pm.  Performing as part of NAC’s First Friday Live Sounds series of music performances, Steve and Lisa Marien deliver hot renditions of jazz classics.

Saxophonist Steve Marien has been bringing his versatile artistry to Connecticut and the region for over 30 years. A consummate artist on the tenor, alto and soprano saxophones in most any musical style, Steve is highly sought after as a freelance artist throughout the region.

Vocalist Lisa Marien has been delighting audiences with her straight ahead jazz stylings for over 25 years.  Often compared to a young Sarah Vaughan with Anita Baker smoothness, Lisa fuses her experiences in pop, classical and contemporary Christian music to present a varied repertoire of classic and contemporary vocal jazz.

Accompanied by the acclaimed trio of Rufus Davis on piano, James Hunter on bass and Randy Cloutier on drums, they create an unforgettable evening of sophisticated yet crowd pleasing entertainment sure to put a smile on every face and a melody in every heart.

First Friday Live Sounds runs from October through June and features a different artist every month.  Events are BYOB but you can also enjoy refreshments from the Norwich Arts Center’s concession stand.  Tables seat up to eight people, and ticket prices for this event are $20 per person.  To purchase tickets, call the Norwich Arts Center / Donald L. Oat Theater Box Office at 860-887-2789, or tickets can be purchased through their web site at www.norwicharts.org.
