SUISMAN SHAPIRO ATTORNEYS NAMED TO CONNECTICUT AND NEW ENGLAND SUPER LAWYERS® AND RISING STARS


NEW LONDON, CT:  Matthew E. Auger, Matthew Shafner and John A. Collins, III, of Suisman Shapiro Attorneys at Law have been named 2011 Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers by Minneapolis based Law & Politics Publishing.  In addition, firm attorney Robert G. Tukey was named to the Super Lawyers Connecticut and New England Rising Stars 2011 lists. Each year, only five percent of attorneys in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine receive Super Lawyers honors, and only 2.5% of attorneys forty years old and under, or in practice for ten years or less, receive the Rising Stars honor.

Attorney Matthew E. Auger has been named to Super Lawyers for six consecutive years, beginning in 2006.  He handles serious personal injury cases, including wrongful death claims, automobile collisions, slip and falls, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and product liability.  Mr. Auger is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate with the National Board of Trial Advocacy.  He is also a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Naval Reserve.


Attorney Matthew Shafner has been named to Super Lawyers for five consecutive years, beginning in 2007.  He is a nationally recognized lawyer in the fields of asbestos injury, personal injury, maritime injury and workers’ compensation.   His reported decisions have been published by the Appellate and Supreme Courts of Connecticut, and the U.S. Court of Appeals in the 1st and 2nd Circuits.  Shafner is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum and was recently selected to appear in the 2011 Edition of Best Lawyers in America with the special distinction of inclusion on the Best Lawyers list for ten years or more.

 


John A. Attorney Robert G. Tukey has been selected by his peers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, one of only 2.5% of young attorneys in New England to receive this distinction.  He is a graduate of Fairfield University and Western New England College School of Law.  A native of southeastern Connecticut, Attorney Tukey’s practice includes litigating marital and custody as well as personal injury matters.
