Free Entrepreneurial Education Workshop Series Offered at TRCC

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut, Three Rivers Community College, The University of Hartford’s Women’s Business Center and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are offering a free series of evening workshops designed to help individuals who are considering starting a business, own a business or those who are just curious about the idea of owning a business.

Workshops are held on Mondays and Wednesdays in April from 5-7 p.m. in Room B-127 on the Three Rivers Community College campus. The deadline to register is Friday, April 17. Participants can enroll in one workshop or all four.

Choose from:
• April 20: Entrepreneurial Self-Assessment: Do You Have What It Takes? Explore pros and cons of owning a business, characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and more.
• April 22: Starting Up: A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Start a Business in Connecticut. Learn about options for business structure (i.e. Sole Proprietorship, LLC), insurance, tax considerations, state and city agencies, and availability of financial assistance.
• April 27: Writing a Business Plan: Your Company’s Roadmap. Every company needs a road map, and the business plan is it. Learn how to write yours.
• April 29: Fundamentals of Running Your Small Business. What will you need to learn to ensure the success of your business? This overview touches upon marketing and sales, budgeting, costing, pricing, financial statements and more. Light refreshments will be served at each workshop. CEUs and a certificate of completion will be awarded for completing all four workshops. Seating is limited so please, register early through Three Rivers.
