North Stonington Health Center Adds Primary and Urgent Care

 

NORTH STONINGTON, CONNECTICUT:   The North Stonington Health Center is now open.  It features urgent care, radiology and laboratory services. Nestled in the woods, but easily accessible, the Center is located at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 184 and is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.   Primary Care services are also available by appointment beginning later this month. 

North Stonington’s experienced staff will be providing care for both Connecticut and Rhode Island residents.  Most major medical insurances will be accepted.  Co-pays for urgent care are generally lower than emergency room settings, and wait times are minimal.  Laboratory services, X-ray, Ultrasound, and Mammography are all available as well.

The Center is staffed by a team of board certified physicians in a range of disciplines including Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine.  “We are more than pleased, we are truly excited, to open this excellent facility and to offer the very best care to residents and visitors,” in the words of the center’s Medical Director Paqui Motyl, M.D. 

The North Stonington Health Center also includes full-service Physical Therapy and Sports Performance/Personal Training Center, which opened in December, and features a 3,000 square-foot gymnasium with premiere exercise equipment, 1,200 square feet of indoor turf, pitching mounds, and batting cages with professional training and rental options.  The center provides regular physical therapy services, treatment for work-related injuries, with an added concentration in orthopedics/sports medicine and an emphasis on rehabilitation of the injured athlete.   Personal trainers will design individualized programs for strengthening, functional movement analysis, weight loss programs, and sports specific training. 

An Open House is being planned soon to give members of the community an opportunity to tour the entire facility and meet the staff.
