Hartford Public Library: “A Vast Storehouse of Free Information and Program for Hartford Regional Small Businesses”

The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (SBDC) collaborates with the Hartford Public Library to present a series of free workshops to benefit entrepreneurs, new start-up and existing small business owners located throughout the Greater Hartford Region.“The Hartford Public Library is a vast resource of free information, programs, access to technology, referrals, and materials for individuals who are interested in startingor expanding their own business. In these times of dwindling financial resources, entrepreneurs are encouraged to take advantage of the invaluable amount of resources, programs, workshops, and others materials offered by the Library,” states Associate Librarian of Adult Learner Services Mary Albro. Resources available at the Hartford Public Library include:


• A list of agencies and organizations that offer counseling, training, and other forms of assistance to small business
• Programs and workshops
• Reference materials (handbooks on writing a business plan)
• Online resources
• Start-up guides (books, magazines, etc)
• Business databases
• Online courses
• Software
