Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving Donates $3,000 to Hospice SECT
On November 18, representatives from the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving presented Carol Mahier, Executive Director of Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, with a grant of $3,000 for the agency’s Live Alone Program. “On behalf of our patients and their families, we thank the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving for their generosity,” said Mahier. “Our live alone program is unique in that it allows qualified patients to remain in their homes when faced with a life-limiting illness, even when a spouse, child or close friend is not available to give primary care. We truly appreciate the Foundation’s commitment to quality care for everyone, regardless of their life situation.” Hospice Southeastern Connecticut provides care in the home and often in skilled nursing facilities for those facing the end of their life, regardless of age, disease or inability to pay. The organization also provides bereavement services for families in New London County free of charge, regardless of whether the death occurred under hospice care or not.
