Chelsea Groton Foundation Distributes Over $48,500 to Local CharitiesThe Chelsea Groton Foundation recently distributed $48,575 among sixteen non-profit organizations serving southeastern Connecticut and the Westerly area. Grants were awarded during a ceremony held on June 1, 2011. Michael Rauh, President and CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank; Amanda Brown, Grant Writer for the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut; and Eric Janney, President of the Chelsea Groton Foundation Board presenting the Women's Center with a grant for $5,000The recipients include Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut; Sound Community Services, Inc.; Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality, Inc.; Big Brother Big Sisters of Southeastern Connecticut; Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut, Inc.; Reliance House, Inc.; Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, Inc.; Ocean Community YMCA; Women’s Center of Southeastern Connecticut, Inc.; Thames Area Citizen Advocacy Program, Inc.; Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc.; Third Sector New England, Inc.; S.T.E.P.S., Inc.; Catholic Charities, Diocese of Norwich; United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut; and American Legion Veterans Housing, Inc.
