CorePlus Announces new member to the Supervisory committee of the Board of Directors

Norwich, CT - CorePlus Federal Credit Union CEO Warren P. Scholl announced at the 74th annual meeting of the Credit Union that Chief Louis Fusaro will be a new member to the Supervisory Committee.

Chief Louis J. Fusaro, Sr. is the Chief of Police for the City of Norwich, CT. He started his career in law enforcement with the U.S. Army, Military Police Corps, and is a combat veteran who served in Vietnam in 1967-1968. He is a 42 year veteran of the Norwich Police Department. Chief Fusaro rose through the ranks of the department, starting as a patrolman, walking a beat, to become its Chief in 1997. He has earned a degree in law enforcement from Mohegan College, is a graduate of the Command Training Institute at Babson College in Wellesley, MA, and the FBI National Academy in Quanico, VA (166th Session).
 
Chief Fusaro has also been involved in a variety of civic organizations in the community. He received the City of Norwich's first "Community Service Award" for outstanding personal service to the community in 1996.  Under his lead, the department has continued to partner with local community groups and organizations fostering his philosophy of bringing the police and citizens closer together for the betterment of the community.

Chief Fusaro, is married. He and his wife Jane have two married sons and four grand-children.  He is a native of the City of Norwich and has made a lifelong career of service to its citizens.

 The former "Norwich Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union" merged with Core Plus years ago. Chief Fusaro was President of NMEFCU for a number of years and a member of its Board of Directors for decades before the merger. "Jane and I have been credit union members for all of our adult life. Our sons have been Credit Union members since birth and now our grandchildren are members. We are huge supporters of the credit union movement and are pleased to help and applaud Core Plus on its continued success and service to the membership."
