Ring in the holiday season at the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation’s 34th Annual Holiday Gala on Friday, Dec. 8th, 2017, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Mohegan Sun’s Convention Center.
The Holiday Gala is a great event. It begins with a cocktail reception with bottomless champagne and delectable hors d’oeuvres, and features one of the region’s largest silent auctions. The evening continues with a decadent dinner and dessert buffet catered by Mohegan Sun, and caps off with a thrilling live auction run by special guests professional auctioneer Sam Piotrkowski and M.C. Kevin Hogan of Channel 3 Eyewitness News.
The Holiday Gala is a fun night out at Mohegan Sun, and it’s also a chance to support charities across eastern Connecticut that enrich children’s and families’ lives all year long.
The Holiday Gala is the major annual fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, whose primary mission is to provide grants to charities that help children throughout the region. Whether it’s the Tommy Toy Fund or the Norwich Rotary’s annual coat drive, the funds raised at the Holiday Gala help contribute toward making a child’s life better.
Through the generosity of our sponsors, auction item donors, and event patrons at the 2016 Gala, the Foundation was able to distribute more than $113,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations in early 2017. Since 2002, the Chamber Foundation has donated more than one million dollars to bettering the lives of children and families in eastern CT.
Every year, recipients tell us that without this program, many of their initiatives would not materialize. Grants do everything from providing car seats to families who otherwise could not afford them to paying for summer camp for kids who otherwise would not be able to attend.
Winter boots, help with college applications, pregnancy support, violin lessons, bicycles and helmets, peanut butter and cereal – all are made available from the Foundation, which supports projects and programs that enrich educational and economic opportunities within our region.
Help make eastern CT a great place to live for all while enjoying a night out at Mohegan Sun. The evening is made possible through the generous support of The Mohegan Tribe, Backus Hospital, Family First Life, The Day, and all who contribute to the event.
