15th Annual Wine & Food Event Will Donate a Portion of Ticket Sales to ACS
Stonington, June 14, 2011 - Stonington Vineyards, one of Connecticut's oldest wineries, has announced the dates for its 15th Annual Summer Wine Festival, July 16th & 17th from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. New this year is that the American Cancer Society will receive $1.00 from every admission to the event. Stonington Vineyards celebrates its 24th year producing award-winning wines in Connecticut. (Most recently, SVI's 2007 Cabernet Franc won the 2011 award for the Best Red Wine Produced in Connecticut.) This year's festival marks another amazing growing season and combines the best of music, wine and food along the 58 rolling acres of Stonington Vineyards. "For us, there is no better way to celebrate the experience of Stonington Vineyards than through the combination of fine wines, a beautiful landscape, great music and tremendous food from the area's best vendors and restaurants. Nick and I have special fondness for the American Cancer Society. We are exciting about giving back to the fight against cancer," - Happy Smith. "We are very excited to benefit from this fabulous event with Stonington Vineyards. Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is saving lives and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. We are grateful for people like Nick and Happy Smith who want to give back, and want to make a difference in the fight against cancer. This is a simple way to give back, ultimately, it helps us to reach more people, more often and helps us communicate what's new with ACS,"- Sue Ann Maresca, State Vice President of Development-Connecticut. Festivities start at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 16th. Musical guest Dan Stevens and the Fiery Band kick things off, while food venues such as the Kitchen Little, Voodoo Grill, The Pita Spot and many other vendors continue the celebration.
